Educational School Tours

September 29 Through October 31

Gro-Moore Farms has a fantastic harvest tour in 2008 for children ages 3 to 8 years old, where children will learn and have fun at the same time!

Inside our market and greenhouse, we play a game with fruits and vegetables and venture through our straw crawl maze. Outside we visit our goat hotel, where children can pet and feed the goats. There is a fun house, the ABC maze and a pumpkin slide. We also have our John Deere train ride.

Each child will pick out a pie size pumpkin, plus have a snack of cider and a cookie. Coloring sheets for each child will be given to teachers. Class pumpkins are available at an additional charge.

Teachers should allow 1 hour for the tour, plus 15 minutes for the snack. (If you do not have enough time for the snack, let us know and we will have it ready for you to take back to the classroom.)

Reservations Are Required

Tours are available Sept. 29 through Oct 31st, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (not available on Columbus Day).
The last two weeks of October are extremely busy, so, if possible, please try to reserve a date earlier in the month.

Cost per child is $5, which includes everything. There is a $50 minimum for groups of 10 or less. No fee for teachers and chaperones, but all children, including those traveling with chaperones, are $5 each. Teachers and all guests may purchase pumpkins inside the market.

To make reservations, call Brenda Moore at (585) 370-6138.

For the Day of Your Field Trip

Please have children ready to start at your reserved time. If you are meeting at Gro-Moore Farms, please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time. If, on the day of your field trip, you need to cancel or you will be late, please call (585) 370-6138, or 359-3310.

Please make sure your children and parents are dressed for the weather. We usually proceed with tours in rain or snow. Please bring hand wipes, as they are very useful. We encourage recycling, so please bring a plastic bag for each child with their name on it for their pumpkin. Name tags are also helpful.

We have a sheet with all the above information available for you to quickly download, add the date and time for your field trip, and then copy it to distribute to all your parents. Click here to download the information sheet.
